Origin
Founded on a single insight.
Holistic Consulting was founded in 2023 in Mooresville, NC by two people whose careers ran in completely different directions, but converged on the same insight: most organizations fail not because they lack technology or strategy, but because they never get clear on who they are before they start building.
The origin is practical, not philosophical. Early in their work together, Chris was applying proven delivery frameworks: SDLC, project management structure, the tools that had worked at scale inside enterprise organizations for over a decade. But the group in front of them was deeply human and deeply varied, and the frameworks weren't landing. So instead of pushing harder on the methodology, they slowed down. They worked through personality assessments, mapped the human layer of the group, and explored what made each person tick. What started as a detour turned into a revelation: the conversation came alive, the group unlocked, and one idea crystallized.
You can't build the right thing until you understand who's doing the building and why. That experience became the seed of Vision to Matter — and the foundation of everything we do.
Today it's a 9-phase framework, a proprietary AI synthesis system, and a live platform that ships deliverables on the day of the session.
We serve purpose-driven businesses with 1–50 employees and early-stage startups in the Charlotte metro and remotely: the underserved middle market that needs experienced operators doing the actual work, not junior consultants or offshore teams.

Chris Short
Technical leader and operator with 12+ years of enterprise program management and a track record of delivering large-scale technology initiatives with near-zero client downtime. Chris brings experience across enterprise cloud infrastructure, blockchain, security, and AI-powered software development to every engagement.
At Pocket Network/Grove, Chris served as Head of Delivery for a decentralized blockchain infrastructure platform supporting 30+ blockchains including Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, and Polygon — coordinating protocol, backend, and frontend teams across MEV support, validator automation, and network economics.
During 8 years at Beeline, Chris rose from Technical Project Manager to Senior Technical Program Manager, leading a 36-month multi-million dollar hybrid cloud build (OCI + Azure), M&A technical integrations with zero client disruption, a global MFA and security suite rollout, 250+ production SQL database upgrades with zero downtime, and a data center consolidation saving $1.2M annually. He founded the company's first PMO and led the organization-wide Agile transformation using the Spotify model.
He co-founded and exited Tampa Bay Tiny Homes and Four Winds Retreat Center: community-first ventures that reflect the same values shaping Holistic Consulting. Today Chris leads full-stack AI-powered development across client work and internal platforms. He originated the Vision to Matter name and 9-phase framework, facilitates solo and joint engagements with a focus on strategic architecture and AI delivery, and refines the process backend based on client feedback.

Taylor Ketcham Short, MA
A former Division I lacrosse athlete at Davidson College, Taylor built a post-athletic career through coaching, camp direction, and league management before finding herself doing something she hadn't planned: quietly helping the founders and entrepreneurs around her get unstuck. Those conversations became clients, and those clients became Ascend Within, her executive coaching and wellness company.
Along the way she co-founded Freedom LKN, IMPowerU, and The Studieaux, building firsthand experience with what it actually takes to start, run, and scale mission-driven organizations. Her MA from Wake Forest University in Disability Studies and Human Rights gave her academic grounding in equity, inclusive storytelling, and analytical rigor: a lens that shapes how she facilitates Vision to Matter and how Holistic Consulting thinks about who deserves access to great consulting.
Today Taylor leads Vision to Matter engagements where wellness and coaching are at the center, and handles sales, marketing, and brand for Holistic Consulting. She is the human-development half of everything we build.
